General Fund Funding Requests
Nonprofit organizations seeking financial support from the Village of Saranac Lake’s General Fund must submit a Funding Request Form for consideration as part of the Village’s annual budget process.
The Village typically develops its budget between January 1 and March 31 for the upcoming fiscal year. Funding requests from nonprofit and community organizations are reviewed during this process and considered alongside other Village budget priorities and available resources.
The Funding Request Form provides the Village Board with consistent information to evaluate each request, including:
- The amount of funding requested and proposed use of Village funds
- The organization’s mission and the purpose of the request
- Benefits and impact to Village residents
- The organization’s budget and demonstrated financial need
- Organizational capacity and other sources of funding
- Alignment with Village priorities
Deadline
Funding Request Forms and all required supporting documentation must be submitted by February 1.
Requests received after February 1 may not be considered as part of that year’s budget process.
Submission of a request does not guarantee funding. All requests are subject to review by the Village Board and funding is dependent upon annual budget priorities and available resources.
