The Energize Lake Flower Business District Grant supports economic development, revitalization, and sustainability improvements within the Lake Flower Business District.

Eligible projects may include:

  • Commercial façade improvements
  • Energy efficiency upgrades
  • Building improvements
  • Streetscape enhancements
  • Business district revitalization projects

The program is intended to encourage investment, strengthen the local economy, and support long-term revitalization efforts within the district.

Program Overview

This Energize Lake Flower Business District grant program aims to help business owners and property owners make improvements and establish business amenities that enhance the Lake Flower Avenue and River Street commercial area. The Village's Community Development Department established this grant program with funds awarded by the North Elba Local Enhancement And Advancement Fund (LEAF).

Exterior building improvements such as painting, brick repair, window & door repair/replacement, awnings, decks, & storefront renovations.

Site improvements including construction of walkways, outdoor seating areas, decks, patios, and landscaping.

High quality building or site enhancements including signage, lighting, awnings, outdoor furniture, publicly accessible art installations, etc. that improve the overall streetscape.

Please note that this is a matching grant, meaning that applicants will have to cover a minimum of 50% of the total cost for the project.

Target Area

The target area for this grant program is the Essex County portion of River Street and Lake Flower Avenue. Eligible properties include street addresses 137 through 203 River Street and 209 through 644 Lake Flower Avenue.

This portion of the Village is located within the Town of North Elba.

Awards
