Food Scrap Collection

The Village of Saranac Lake Food Scrap Collection Program encourages waste reduction and sustainable waste management practices by providing opportunities for residents to divert food scraps from the regular waste stream.

Accepted materials may include:

  • Fruit and vegetable scraps
  • Coffee grounds
  • Eggshells
  • Bread and grains
  • Other compostable food materials

The program helps reduce landfill waste and supports broader community sustainability efforts.
