Following the March 7 article in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise regarding the March 4 mayoral forum, the Village of Saranac Lake would like to provide clarification on two financial terms that were referenced.
Reserve Funds and Unreserved Funds (Fund Balance) represent different types of municipal funds and are often confused. To help residents better understand the difference, we’ve provided a brief explanation in the graphic above.
