Village of Saranac Lake to open the 60-day Short-term Rental Application Process for Pre-existing Short-term Rentals

The Village of Saranac Lake announces that the 60-day application period for pre-existing Short-term rentals will begin at 8:00am on Monday, August 14, 2023. All Short-term Rental operators that can provide proof of operation as a Short-term Rental between January 31, 2022, and January 31, 2023 and their Franklin or Essex County certificate of authority to collect occupancy tax, per the Short-term Rental Law, may submit applications until close of business on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

All operators of pre-existing Short-term Rentals who have not yet received notifications regarding the application process can email comdevassist1@saranaclakeny.gov or go to the Short-term Rental Law project page of saranaclakeny.gov to learn more.
