The Village of Saranac Lake became a designated Clean Energy Community in 2017 after completing four high-impact to reduce energy use. Residental Compost at the DPW
DPW Garage, ask for residental compost drop-off
Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday 7:00am-2:30pm
Saturday - Sunday 7:00am-12:00 pm
Village residents with a valid compost permit may dispose of leaves and brush.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the compost facility, please call 518-891-4160.
Walk Friendly Community Silver Award
Saranac Lake is designated as a Silver-Level community due to the impressive levels of walking and excellent planning efforts. Saranac Lake is a very walkable community and most errands can be accomplished on foot. A walk through the Village provides beautiful lake and river views, historic architecture, parks for refuge and recreation, and many dining and shopping possibilities. Learn more.
