Village of Saranac Lake

The Village of Saranac Lake will be taking the following actions to protect its Department of Public Works and Waste Water Treatment Plant workforce during the recent COVID-19 outbreak:    

Effective immediately the Village of Saranac Lake Compost will be closed to the public until further notice. The Waste Water Treatment Plant located on the Bloomingdale road on the outskirts of the Village will be closed to the public until further notice. Customers of Life Science Laboratories will still be able to pick up and drop off samples at a designated location right outside the plant.  For questions or comments please call our office at 518-891-3037 or email at wwtp2@saranaclakeny.gov

The Department of Public Works garage and Central Garage located on Van Buren Street in the Village will be closed to the public until further notice. For questions or comments please call 518-891-4160 or email dpw1@saranaclakeny.gov for the Department of Public Works or 518-891-4213 or email central@saranaclakeny.gov for Central Garage. 

The Village of Saranac Lake Department of Public Works will continue to monitor the current situation and reevaluate at a later time. Our goal is to continue to operate as close to normal throughout this time while trying to limit the workforce exposure to public. We would like to ask that any customer who currently has an appointment with any of our departments to please consider rescheduling if you show any signs or symptoms of illness or have recently been in contact with someone showing signs of an illness.
