VILLAGE OF SARANAC LAKE SEEKS MEMBERS FOR HOUSING TASK FORCE

The Village of Saranac Lake Board of Trustees adopted a Housing Plan in January 2022.  One of the high priority actions recommended in that plan is to “establish a Housing Task Force to track progress, assist with completion of action items, and study best practices and successful strategies for housing development.”  The Village Board will establish a Village of Saranac Lake Housing Task Force with representation from the categories listed below.  Others will be considered if they have passion for addressing housing needs, express willingness to put forth the effort needed to make progress on complex issues, or would contribute a unique skillset to the task force.  The intent is to identify individuals with the skills, background and knowledge that will help with implementation of the recommendations in the Housing Plan.  Preferred qualifications include, but are not limited to, representation from the following categories:

• Housing organizations
• Financing
• Realtors
• Construction trades
• Major employers

The members of the Housing Task Force shall not exceed (9) individuals and appointments to the Task Force require a majority vote of the Village Board.

Anyone interested in serving on the Housing Task Force should email a letter of interest by April 10^th to Jamie Konkoski, Community Development Director at comdev@saranaclakeny.gov.  The Community Development Director and two members of the Village Board will review letters of interest and recommend a slate of candidates to the full Village Board.
