Police Review Committee in Compliance with EO203

January 05, 2021

The Village of Saranac Lake has set up a Police Review Committee in compliance with EO203.

Executive Order 203 directs local government entities with policy agencies, like the Village of Saranac Lake, to perform a comprehensive review of current police force deployments, strategies, policies, procedures, and practices, and develop a plan to improve such deployments, strategies, policies, procedures, and practices, for the purposes of addressing the particular needs of the communities served by such police agency and promote community engagement to foster trust, fairness, and legitimacy, and to address any racial bias and disproportionate policing of communities of color.” The Police Review Committee will follow the guidance outlined in Governor Cuomo’s workbook, which can be viewed online, on.ny.gov/3h3tFUu
