FRANKLIN COUNTY EMERGENCY OPERATION CENTER COVID-19 UPDATE

 

Malone, NY – Franklin County Public Health and Franklin County Emergency Operation Center report that as of this release Franklin County has 15 individuals with confirmed tests for COVID-19, 93 individuals are “Probable”, and 9 cases are currently “Active”, 59 in quarantine/self-isolation, 931 negative tests and 99 resolved cases. Franklin County Department of Health and the Franklin County Emergency Operation Center Today announced that 1,080 COVID-19 test kits have been received from the New York State Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Services with assurances that additional tests will be provided as needed. Franklin County Public Health in conjunction with Alice Hyde Medical Center, Adirondack Medical Center and Mountain Medical will be ramping up COVID-19 testing for health care workers, first responders, essential workers and the general public. Anyone that would like to be tested should contact their medical provider to obtain an order to be tested and then contact the COVID-19 Hotline at Alice Hyde Medical Center 518-481-2700, Adirondack Medical Center at 518-897-2462 or Mountain Medical (Malone 518-521-3322 or Saranac Lake 518-897-1000) to schedule an appointment. Nursing Home staff, health care workers, first responders, essential workers and symptomatic COVID-19 patients will receive a priority, however in order to move forward Franklin County will need to conduct approximately 50 tests per day. Any questions or concerns regarding testing should be directed to the COVID-19 hotline numbers or Mountain Medical. It is important that as many tests as possible are conducted in the coming days and weeks in order to meet the testing mandate put forth by the Governor’s Office. Franklin County and the Northern Region have set the goal to meet the testing threshold by Friday May 15, 2020 in order to begin phase 1 of reopening to include construction, manufacturing and curbside retail. The Franklin County Emergency Operation Center will be receiving 10,000 cloth masks for the general public and gowns, face shields and gloves for medical operations. The COVID-19 tests and PPE material are being distributed as rapidly as possible.
