Franklin County COVID-19 Update: April 24

FRANKLIN COUNTY EMERGENCY OPERATION CENTER COVID-19 UPDATE


Malone, NY – Franklin County Public Health and Franklin County Emergency Operation Center report that as of this release there are a total of 13 individuals with confirmed tests for COVID-19 in Franklin County.  There are an additional 80 individuals that are “Suspect” (a confirmed primary contact with a known positive individual or an individual that is exhibiting the signs and symptoms of COVID-19).  291 people have tested negative and 58 cases have been resolved.  There are currently 105 individuals are quarantined/isolated and 291 people have tested negative.    
Governor Andrew Cuomo has recently announced that although New York State Campgrounds will be closed, private campgrounds will be allowed to open and receive campers.  The Franklin County Department of Public Health has contacted the each of the campgrounds within Franklin County and provided them with laminated poster to be displayed for all campers to read, an information flier to be provided to all campers and a short request for information form to be completed by the campers.  Campers from outside the local area should self-quarantine for 14 days and refrain from any non-essential travel.  All Campers are to adhere to current rules and regulations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.  All Campers should remain at their campsite except for essential needs, campers should not congregate at other campsites and practice social distancing at all times.  No large gatherings should take place at the campgrounds.    

 

 

The Franklin County Emergency Operation Center has received 18,000 cloth masks and has distributed masks to Franklin County Fire and EMS providers.  Masks have also been provided to all Town Supervisors and Village Mayors in Franklin County for distribution to the public.    

 


The Franklin County Emergency Services COVID-19 Call Center continues to experience a reduction in the call volume regarding COVID-19 inquiries. The Hotline hours of operation are being further reduced to help alleviate resources and still provide information and assistance to anyone that might need it. The new hours of operation for the COVID-19 Call Center are Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm.  Anyone seeking information regarding COVID-19, inquiring about services provided or wishing to volunteer is asked to contact 518-481-1111 during the days and times listed. Anyone needing emergency assistance should contact 911.
